When Starting Brera One I wanted to delve deep into a story about rape, and pureness. Subjects which have crawled into my oeuvre before. This particular painting confronts the viewer with a singular figure inside a dark realm to match the darkness of the subject matter. The dark realm accentuates the figure and the light blue “evil pill”. Everything tied neatly together by a composition inspired by Piero Dell Francesca’s Brera Madonna.
